The dog days of summer are upon us. It is blistering outside and the incessant noise of the cicadas is deafening. Oh, and I love it. Not the blistering heat, but the cicadas. I know it drives people nuts, but it is so bloody cool. Zrrrrrrrrrrrr zrrrrrrrrrrrrrr zrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
We’re a big ol’ pile of cicadas. Don’t mess with us. YEAH!

  1. I don’t mind the sound of cicadas, but now that I’m taking over the responsibilities of pool maintenance, I’m becoming a bit squeamish about reaching my hand down into the pool filters, knowing I have to gingerly get past at least 2 dead cicadas to pull the filter baskets out. Yuk! I’m not fond of bugs, especially dead floating ones!

Sorry. I know bugs work for you. 🙂

I even miss the heat. It has been freezing cold here. The Cicades sound blissful and reminiscent of really hot sidewalk.

Bugs over chickens any day! We had a giant grasshopper the size of a rabbit land on our car today. It was cool. (please note that I am prone to exageration).

  4. I never thought I would say this… but I miss that sound.
