Last day

So many posts swirling around my head, but the Cape Cod cocktails are whirling and swirling quicker and so interfering with writing them so they’ll have to wait. Today was my last day officially in office. Wahooooooo! Then drinks after.

I’m going to miss those students and many of my awesome colleagues. They best bother me on Facebook. Or else!

I’m so excited about this next stage and a little bit frightened. Who am I again? What do I do?

See you on the flip side.

  1. As a gainfully unemployed person myself, I sometimes wonder, “Who am I again?” πŸ™‚

I relish the extra time I have with my family, as a result of not working FT, but I was starting to go stir crazy as well, so I’ve thrown myself into a freelance writing gig. It feels good to be challenged again.

I know you, you’ll struggle with the concept of slowing down, even without working a FT job. Try to slow down and enjoy this time, okay?

Oh, and call me back! πŸ™‚

  2. Congratulations and best wishes!

So many people lost their (political) office yesterday. I think you’re the only one that’s happy about it.

  4. So excited for you! I can’t wait to read about what develops.

  5. Yay! I have so many kinds of envy for what you are doing but it’s friendly envy that you are being so bold with your life! I wish I had the balls (and the finances, unfortunately) to follow suit.

So it’s been 5 days… aside from the All Souls and fish sticks… what are you up to? Oh, wait, you’re up to gelato! I had no idea there was a place downtown… is it better than Brooklyn’s?

    • Lindsey,
There was a point a few weeks ago when revisiting the budget where all kinds of obsenities slipped from my mouth. I made some rather serious omissions in our budget calculations. Lets just say our food budget is going to be even tighter than originally planned as is the gas money. But yes, I am very fortunate to have this opportunity.

Oh, the gelato place is incredible. Allegro Gelato. It is on the corner of 6th and Campbell in the Sam Hughes Place structure. The guy who owns it is from Lake Como and it is the real deal. I had fennel. The gelato is $3.50 for a small, but unlike Frost Allegro allows you to have two flavors in one cup and honestly I could have shared my small. I wouldn’t want to, but I could have.
